Update

So much has happened since the last time I have gave an update. I have a new brother and sister. Mom and Dad wanted a new dog so they took me and the kids to the place they adopted me from. Well in the process mom fell in love with a kitten so she adopted her too. So now we have Dirk who is also an Austrialian Shepherd and a kitten named Princess Belle.

Dirk and I went to the groomers a couple weeks ago. We are two good looking dogs when we are all groomed up.

We also went camping this past weekend. Mom and Dad were impressed with out behavior.

I woke up this morning to find all these great toys all over. They were making so much noise. And mom just wouldn't let me play with them. I was a little upset with her. How did she expect me to go potty with the toys right there? Mom told me they weren't toys and to just go potty. I did and we came back in. Man I could have had some real fun this morning. Mom is such a party pooper!

It's been awhile

Last time I checked in I had just visited the groomer. I have been to the groomer a couple of times now. I love that place. Mom drops me off and comes back for me a few hours later. She is always excited to see me and they let me play in the yard.

Speaking of yard, it snowed a few weeks ago. I LOVE the snow. Mom and Dad gets so annoyed because I like to go out and play instead of going potty. Snow tastes so much better than water after all! Dad and I played in the snow and he was tossing snowballs at me. I just gave him the are you serious look. I was having fun though.

Christmas has came and went. I really enjoyed Christmas with my family. I even got a stocking all of my own. I received beggin strips, snusages and a few small things.

Check in on an update soon. Mom and Dad have been talking about buying a house. They told me I would get a backyard when they did. I also heard them talking about getting me a friend. I'm crossing my toes! I would really like to have a friend who will play with me.

Groomer's

I went to the groomer's yesterday. They trimmed my nails, cleaned up my hiney, bathed me and brushed me out. When mom came to pick me up she said I look like a new dog. Also mom talked to the groomer about my breed. (Mom and dad have done a little research and they think that I might me and English Shepherd instead.) The groomer told mom she thought she was right. Now they have me all confused. Am I Aussie or English? Is it mate or bloody? Okay bad joke. Either way I made it through my first grooming session and have to say, I'm pretty darn handsome now!

The family cat

I figure after so much talk about the family cat, I would finally introduce her to you. Her name is Tigra. She is such a princess. I think that's why Lorah put that on her crown on her.

Two months in

In the past two months I have learned so much about my family. My kids are in love with me. Alekz likes to invite me to his bed. I like laying with him. I watch tv with Lorah. And shhh, don't tell them, I like to sit in between them when they are playing just so I can get some extra petting in. My mom brushes me all the time. She says I'm going to kill the vacuum cleaner if I don't quit shedding. So on the 24th I go to the groomer. I heard something about a good brushing, a bath and having my hinney trimmed up. I wonder how she would like that one if I sent her to the groomer for her hinney to be trimmed. She did tell them not to touch my nails though. I hate having my nails touched so I was happy to hear that. Dad takes me for walks a lot. I love walking the neighborhood. I have even met a friend. Her name is Tess, she is a black lab. We like to say hello every chance we get.

A month later

I know it's been awhile since I have posted. My mom has been busy so I have been sitting here waiting patiently for her to type my newest update. I have been with my new family for a month now. Life has been pretty good for me. They tried to put me on higher quality dog food and it made me sick. So after 2 weeks of my tummy being a mess mom said it was enough and stopped adding it to my food. (In case you don't know, you never put a dog on a new food unless you slowly add the new food to their old food till it's all new food) Anyways, the family left me at home one day and came home with a huge(44lbs) bag of food for me. Mom said it was on sale, I hope so since it will be months before it's all gone. I also get treats in moderation. Mom says they are only to be given to me in moderation. The kids don't listen though because they sneak them to me. Oh and I hate milkbones!

Mom and dad say I'm awesome. I have never had an accident in the house. They love that I know sit and lay. They are working on stay with me. I really should learn that since I have gotten out of the house two times now. Dad was mad, one time he ran after me barefooted. I was in trouble for that.

I'm learning and fitting in overall okay. The family offers me tons of love. The family cat is getting use to me now. She still won't let me play with her. But at least she will come near me now.

So that is my one month check in. I how to get more post in over the next month.

Camping

We went camping this past weekend. Mommy said I was a good boy. She said I barked to much but not to much that it was a huge problem. I chewed through my leash while I was tide to a tree. I also put a few small holes in the windows of the tent. Mommy isn't upset with me. She said it was okay since the holes weren't a problem. She replaced my leash. Mom did say she plans to buy me a bark collar for our next camping trip. I was scared of them till I heard mom telling dad he had to find one that uses sound to correct me not shock. I think she really cares about me. I think I am fitting in just fine around here. I get plenty of food, love and walks. It's just the way I like it.

Ouchie

Yesterday my new mom and kids took me to the vet. The vet gave me a full yearly. I received a few shots. I am now have my rabies vaccination. I could have done without it but mom says I have to have it to live in our county and to get my license. They let my mom know that I don't like my toe nails touched. Other than that I was given a clean bill of health. Oh and that heart worm medicine is nasty even with puproni wrapped around it!

First days home

On Friday, June 26, I gained a new family. They spent so much time with me at the humane society. I'm so glad they wanted an older dog because I am 5 years old. I had been at the shelter for 3 months. The biggest drag though was they came form 2 hours away. This means I was stuck in the car with complete strangers for 2 hours! I got the best of them though because I got to ride shotgun on the way home. HEHEHE! It's okay though because my new family has 2 kids. I adore kids. The little girl is my pillow. I have only been in my new home for 2 days now and I have met many new people who all adore me too. I guess I won't chew on any shoes. Well honestly, I don't like toys so the shoes are safe. Let me tell you, this family loves to take me everywhere they can. I love car rides. They have given me the whole back of the SUV. I think this is so great. I have room to lay down or walk around.

Lets not forget about my bath today. My new mom wanted to get me all clean. I had a few mats and she said I smelled (someone need to tell her I have a huge black coat on all the time and I'm a dog!). They took me to the pet store and gave me a bath. But the laugh as on mom sice I climbed up on her and soaked her shirt. Yeah, that little plastic appron wasn't saving her from me! ;) But now I'm all clean!

Okay now I have to share with you the family cat! She is full of a-t-t-i-t-u-d-e! I was in this house for less than an hour and she jumped me! What a way to welcome your now friend. She is a pain. I have tried to get her to play with me and she won't play. I think she is stuck up. Oh though I did her mom say she's 9 now. Maybe she's just getting old and cranky! Oh well, I'll make her like me. I think she is starting to warm up to me already.

Overall, I like this family so far. They are always giving me love. Oh and I make thim so happy by just sitting on command! I will be keeping this family, I think.
